During the 1920's and 1930's Havana enjoyed an effervescent musical scene that took over the entire city. With dancing and music styled after native genres, it gave birth to a host of high-quality musicians and venues. Among them is the Buena Vista Social Club, located between 46th and 48th Streets in the Cuban capital. In the 90's Ry Cooder popularized this movement all over again with the namesake documentary that turned into a band touring the world over, offering recitals and recording music that will go down in the annals of history. The place didn't reopen but it did put the history of many talented musicians back in the spotlight.
