Throughout the history of Murcia, you can see how the cultivation and trade of cereals, flours, vegetables and salt are the essential foundation of the region's economy. This is why this museum is so important, which is located in the area known as the Antiguo Molino de las 24 Piedras (the Old Windmill of 24 Stones) preserves and exhibits how the windmill functions, showing visitors what's involved in the flour-making process with its original machinery. What's more, the building is used as a study and investigation centre of different local and regional aspects, as well as an exhibition centre. The permanent exhibition of how the windmill functions already justifies the visit, even though you've still to visit the area of the stables, but we'll let you discover them for yourself.
