The Bull and Bear is ranked amongst the top 25 restaurants in the world according to the Financial Times. It offers a tasting menu at 50 euros per head. It has a welcoming and intimate dining room to hand, in which to sample contemporary seasonal Portuguese cuisine. Its menu has amassed 150 wine references and among its star dishes are prawn curries with chutney or Portuguese cod. An alternative luxurious but less expensive option is the Brestaurant, found within the precincts of the five star Boavista Hotel. Just the place to see and be seen in, and from whose stoves gourmet paella, Mediterranean recipes and sophisticated Portuguese cuisine all emanate. Finally, the DomTonho is perhaps the most exclusive restaurant in the city, which throughout its history has numbered the likes of Lou Reed, Fidel Castro and Mastronianni among its clientele.
