The Parque El Ejido is just to the south of the La Mariscal district, in the centre of the capital, and is one of the most popular green spaces in Quito. With over 1,500 trees, this extensive park is one of the prettiest and most attractive in the area. However, it's not just the park that attracts visitors, the improvised art gallery that appears here every weekend is also very popular. Artists from all over the city gather here every seven days to display their work in public, making this an ideal choice for art, shopping and a leisurely dose of fresh air. All day long, you'll find paintings and artwork in every form, crafts, clothes, musical instruments and so much more. All accompanied by a range of street performers and buskers providing the soundtrack to your day out in the park.
