One of La Palma's most popular markets is to be found every weekend in the town of Villa de Mazo at Calle Dr. Morera Bravo. Its purpose is to sell and generally support local farms, ranches, artisans, and similar traditional small businesses. Here it's all about locally produced meat, fish, wines, honey, sweets and baked goods. Except for the sweets and pastries, all that is more valuable to visitors as photo ops than purchases - but what tourists will appreciate far more is a lovely and very attractively priced selection of local crafts such as embroidered sheets, handkerchiefs, tablecloths, blankets, garments, and other uniquely La Palman mementos. Open Saturday 11 am to 7 pm and Sunday 9 am to 1 pm.
