Tokyo, the most populous city in the world
Tokyo, the capital of Japan, combines ultra-modern and tradition better than anywhere else.
If there is a well-known image of the city, it is that of the Shibuya crossing. This intersection consists of five synchronised pedestrian crossings, which means that each time the pedestrian traffic lights turn green, a human tide invades the asphalt making it the world's busiest intersection.
Another of its emblematic places is the impressive Sensoji temple with its huge gate, its imposing red lantern, bells and gardens. Ueno Park is another place not to be missed, where you can relax while strolling among temples and shrines and, while you're at it, visit the Tokyo National Museum.
As if that were not enough, a visit to Tokyo requires an early morning trip to the Toyosu Fish Market, where you can witness one of the most frenetic daily activities in the Japanese capital, the fish auction, a spectacle in itself. Tokyo is also famous for its fashion and shopping districts, such as the Harajuku shopping district or the luxury flagship stores of Ginza.
