Hike or bike your way through primordial-feeling forests of laurel, pine, and more
Eco-wonderland just north of Santa Cruz
La Palma boasts a number of natural parks and reserves, and Las Nieves ("The Snows") ranges over some 5,100 hectares (20 square miles) north of the outskirts of La Palma, including ravines of El Río, La Madera, Quintero, and Dorador. It's a phenomenal option for hikers, bikers, and nature-lovers in general. Roaming its trails, visitors can luxuriate in their breathtaking surroundings thick with Canary Islands pines (known for their extraordinary abilities to withstand drought), chestnuts, giant ferns, and laurel trees.
