Abadía and Casa Inés: more restaurants with local cuisine
Home made cooking, local wines, large portions and made to measure prices... What more could you ask for?
Interesting options.
If you’re looking for a safe bet to try out traditional Portuguese cuisine at reasonable prices in a pleasant and familiar set-up, these two spots are attractive possibilities to keep in mind. The Abadía restaurant is to be found right in the centre of town, in the Ateneu Comercial do Porto, and you can make menu selections from amongst other things, octopus with rice and beans, grilled squid, ox steak, cod, clams, seafarers’ rice…on the other hand, the Casa Inés, located in Miraflores Street, prepares typical homemade dishes like tripe with chickpeas, rice battered octopus, pickled sardines, always accompanied by rich tasting local wines. At the time of placing your order, it’s best to keep in mind that the portions on offer at both restaurants are more than ample, for which reason it’s a good idea to go steady.
