Iberia and Iberia Express, the world's most punctual airlines in 2017

Iberia has once again been recognised as the most punctual global airline network with 88.97 percent of its flights on time.

For yet another year running, Iberia and Iberia Express were the most punctual airlines in the world. This is the verdict of the annual punctuality report just published by FlightGobal, the leading consultant in flight information and travel industry services and applications, which names Iberia and Iberia Express as the world's most punctual airlines in their respective categories in 2017.

Specifically, last year Iberia was the most punctual global airline network with 88.97 percent of its flights on time.

Besides, in 2017 Iberia was not only the must punctual global airline in the world (Major Global Airline category) but was also recognised as the most punctual airline in Europe (European Major Airline category), with an average punctuality for flights in this region of 89.54 percent.

In both cases, the airline has occupied the first position for the second year running.

These results demonstrate that over the last five years, Iberia has consistently improved its position in the punctuality ranking, one of the most highly rated by customers, to rise to the top slot. It occupied the fourth position in 2013, the third in 2014, the second in 2015 and the first in 2016 and 2017.

Iberia CEO Luis Gallego said, "We are very proud to achieve this award for the second year in a row. Many global airlines perform very well, improve every year, and have their sights set on becoming the most punctual in the world... The fact that we have managed to do just that for the second year running, maintaining the quality standards we want and that our customers expect, is an enormous satisfaction. Besides, punctuality is one of the factors that customers rate most highly, with a clear impact on who they choose to travel with. This award recognises the dedication, commitment and professionalism of all Iberia employees. My congratulations to all of them."

Meanwhile,Iberia Express was recognised as the world's most punctual low-cost airline, with 91.77 percent of its flights on time. This is the fourth time in a row that it has occupied the top slot in the world ranking.
