The Old City Route

Cobblestone streets, Romanesque churches, and tapas bars.

A Coruña old quarter, known as Ciudad Vieja (Old City), is a testament to the mediaeval and Baroque splendour that once filled this Galician city, and every visitor should take at least a couple of hours to wander its narrow cobblestone streets. You'll come across all manner of stone plazas, Romanesque churches, traditional Galician houses with galleries and pretty balconies, and little traditional taverns to stop along the way for a tapa and a cold one. At the following link you can download a map of all the main points of interest, including monuments, restaurants, pubs, and shops: http://www.turismocoruna.com/media/documentos/CiudadViejaIngles.pdf.
