A different, and equally interesting, way to discover the area is by boat. Check it out!
Upstream and downstream.
The Rhine is one of the most important rivers in Germany, as its port activity played a vital role in the development of Düsseldorf and many other cities. This river is also navigable from Switzerland to the North Sea, offering many fun activities along the way. Firstly, there are excursions to Cologne (only 40 kilometres away). Along this route, you will see the largest cathedral in Germany and the twelve Romanesque buildings that represent the city. We also recommend the tours organised in the outskirts of Düsseldorf, which take you past Medieval castles, small villages and the Rhine Valley. All of the city’s natural surroundings have played a key role in the culture, mythology and legends of the North Rhineland for centuries. Why not discover it all from the water?
