This recreational avenue is found next to the promenade; from it, you can take a boat and sail across Lake Xolotlán.
A comprehensive offer for tourists
The Salvador Allende Port is the leisure and recreation hub for tourists arriving in Managua. Built on the shores of Lake Xolotlán in 2008, visitors will find bars, restaurants, pubs and recreation centres as they walk along the boulevard, which is a popular spot on weekend evenings. In the port area, which is just a few blocks from Managua's monumental centre, a large number of attractions can be enjoyed, thanks to its exceptional location; among them is a permanent exhibition of photography, charting the history of the lake. In addition, a ferry to Isla del Amor leaves from the quay, where you can marvel at one-of-a-kind vistas of the Nicaraguan capital. Playgrounds, colourful squares and food stalls are available for children.
