Plaza de las Flores
Flowers, colours, good weather, terraces, bars, people and more people… Welcome to the square of the Murcian springtime.
Spring is in the air.
Two squares in one. Plaza de las Flores is made up of two squares being Plaza Santa Catalina and Plaza de San Pedro joined together, and it's said that the spring in Murcia starts here. Perhaps this is because when the good weather comes, the square is filled with bright colours of the thousands of flowers that it's made up of and which it's named after. Throughout the whole year, this square is also one of the city's main places for day and night-time activities. The perfect place for having lunch, dinner, or simply having a drink or a bite to eat. The range is practically never ending and it's for all tastes from La Tapa, which is a restaurant that specializes in rice dishes, to La Panocha, which is a well-known local restaurant offering traditional Murcian gastronomy. When the evening comes, and especially in the summer, the square is filled with a nice crowd which proclaims it as one of the perfect places to start off a night tour.
