Opéra de Nice

A real cultural epicentre

This iconic building in Nice dates back to the end of the 18th century, and since then it has endured a turbulent history of fires and renovations that led to the building that we know nowadays, which was built in 1885 and originated from a project by the architect Charles Garnier. It took its present name of Ópera de Niza in 1902. If the amazing facade attracts your attention from the outside, wait until you see the interior: the decoration combines the Italian essence with the best brush-strokes of the charming French style in a sublime way, resulting in a cosmopolitan decoration that will leave you stunned. Don't forget to take your camera so that you can permanently capture the painted ceiling and the famous sculptures that represent some muses. This is a venue for the best and beautiful opera, ballet, and chamber music shows, and its extensive and very interesting programme is taken care of down to the slightest detail, and with one objective: your enjoyment.
