Hostelería El Temple (

Grandma's recipes.

The recipes from grandmothers of Navarre come together in 'Hostelería El Temple', which is a small restaurant on the street named 'calle Curia', where it's best to book to avoid the disappointment of being without a table, since homemade food and good prices are always popular. They have a ground floor for ordering 'pintxos' (tapas) and a dining room with a daily special menu or 'carta'. You won't find designer dishes here with vinegar of Modena as decoration, but you will find a menu with good meat and fish, accompanied by seasonal vegetables. For starters, you can order piquillo peppers or the usual salads, which are generous and filling, then you can choose between traditional fish dishes (like garlic prawns, almejas (clams) ‘a la marinera’ and 'ajoarriero', (which is a dish of cod with oil, garlic and peppers) or succulent meats such as lamb ribs or grilled fillet with blue cheese. The traditional desserts will make you remember those scents of an old house without frills.
