Coffee as a way of life in Rome
For Italians coffee is not a drink, is a sign of identity and, almost a way of life. Coffee is part of a Roman's daily life. It means a break from the daily routine or it's time for socialising. Be that as it may they have, possibly, the best coffee in the world. The number of customs they have developed and associated with having a coffee. are curious. It is perfectly normal to find the cafés full of people having a coffee at mid morning on their way, that is, standing and on the spur of the moment, as well as in business meetings with clients. There are endless varieties, because everyone has their own preference, but one which is greatly appreciated is the Cappuccino, which is made with milk and served with froth on top and, often includes a touch of cinnamon. Delicious. Most of the food shops and delicatessen sell all kinds of varieties. And that could be a good choice to take home as a souvenir or a gift. You may not be able to find it out of Rome and, if you do, there will be a big difference in the price.
