Murcians can take care of their health and enjoy their city with this idea. Long live the 10,000 steps!
The trail of 10,000 steps is an initiative by Murcia's city council that combines the idea of getting to know the city and its surroundings with sport and health. It's about a journey that was designed for walking and mixes urban areas with green and natural stretches. The name of this trail comes from the approximate number of steps that the tour can take, which coincides with the number of steps that are recommended to be taken on every day, in order to keep in good health. The route starts in a place called Glorieta de España and runs by the main areas of the city such as Puente Viejo; Floridablanca; the street named Trapería; the Malecón landscape, and Plano de San Francisco to then finish back at the starting point. Throughout this circle, you'll go around the main monuments in the city, in fact, it's common to take advantage of this route to do touristic stops such as the museum of Museo Salzillo, the cathedral, or even to have lunch around the area of Santo Domingo.
