Night and day, under the moon and under the sun…
La Palma's other main beach resort area
Together with Los Cancajos, Puerto Naos is one of La Palma's primary beach resort areas. Located on the west coast, fewer than 40 kilometres (24 miles) from Santa Cruz, it's come a long way from the days when locals eked out their livings mostly from fishing and banana cultivation. Its fine black-sand beach is 350 metres (1,150 feet) long - a bit more than that of Los Cancajos - and is a favoured spot with beach bunnies especially during the sweltering summer months. Of course there's a full panoply of commercial establishments - pubs, dance clubs, hotels, shops, and beach shacks - as well as a large menu of sports and activities such as windsurfing and snorkelling (snorkellers in particular will be in their element, spotting a wide variety of exotic species.
