Iznaga Tower (Trinidad)

The Iznaga brothers.

The origin of the Iznaga Tower is linked to the history of the Iznaga brothers, wealthy landowners of the time as well as owners of sugar mills. It starts with a dispute between the two over the same young woman. They thus decided to settle their quarrel with two projects, whose length in feet would name the winner. Alejo created this 147-foot tall tower, while Pedro drilled a well 92 feet deep, from which town residents still drink. The Tower of Iznaga comes to our days as a sign of the wealth that once prevailed in the town.
