Not all dishes in Fuerteventura are based on fish, as the island also offers an important variety of meat and some recipes capable of convincing even the most demanding palates, among which one of the most prized dishes is cabrito. Even though there are countless ways of making cabrito by even serving it in stews or with papas arrugadas (crinkle-cut chips), our personal recommendation is that you taste the traditional version: oven-roasted with a side dish. There are many restaurants throughout the island where you can try it, so it won't be difficult to find. Since it's an animal which has been reared on the land, the quality is assured, so it's practically the same wherever you go, and of course it's a good reason to visit the centre of Fuerteventura, which is the typical area for livestock. For example, the region of Antigua is home to one of the most stunning areas if we are talking about landscapes, as well as numerous restaurants where you can try this meat and others from the island.
