In the lovely little whitewashed village of Santa Gertrudis, in the middle of the island but just a 15-minute drive from Eivissa, this little gourmet shop is worth the trip, especially if you're a cheese-lover. Run by a French expat, La Fromagerie has more than 50 lovely kinds of mostly French fromages, and mostly made with raw milk, which gives them a very special flavour indeed. There are plenty more tasty treat treats on hand, as well, such as pâtés, home-baked pies and cakes, home-churned butter, special sauces, magret of duck, rillettes, and a long list of other delicacies for the most demanding palates, accompanied by an exclusive selection of fine wines. It'll help make your holidays all the tastier, à la française!
