Buttery, delicious Mahón-Menorca cowsmilk cheese is one of Spain's most distinctive cheeses, with a denomination of origin. There are a number of sub-varieties, depending on specifics of the manufacturing process, type of cows, and region of the island. One of the best places to find many of those varieties is the Mercat de Maó in Sa Plaça - along with many of the other distinctive foods Minorca is known for.
