The Santa Cruz waterfront has in recent years increasingly become a principal focus of commercial activity on La Palma - especially since a mall called Marina La Palma opened in 2010 to complement the already impressive shopping menu along Avenida Marítima and Avenida de El Puente. The open-air Marina La Palma offers spectacular views of the Old Town along with a goodly number of shops (Spar, Natura, and Ruta 66, among many others), cafés, pubs, and restaurants.
