Another market with a difference
Lots of Santa Cruz locals make a habit of taking a Saturday-morning outing to the town of Puntallana, 11 kilometres (seven miles) north - about a 20-minute drive. The reason is a particularly appealing variety of foods and fresh food ingredients brought in from all over the island, but also the added value here in the form of food and wine tastings, and entertainment such as kids' puppet shows. Held 9 am to 2 pm on downtown Puntallana's Plaza de San Juan.
