One of Spain's most historic football stadiums, home to one of its most winning teams
The Valencia Football Club - one of Spain and Europe's most successful - calls this 55,000-seat stadium, founded in 1923, home. Named after an irrigation channel dating back to medieval Moorish times that ran alongside the stadium, over the decades it has repeatedly been witness to footy history - regularly hosting the King's Cup finals, for example, as well as special events such as games of the 1982 World Cup and the 1992 Summer Olympics. If you're a diehard fan, check out the Mestalla Forever Tour, a guided visit of the stadium's highlights, including the locker room and the trophy room.
