Weight limitations and excess-baggage fees

If your flight ticket is marked with the code “1 PC”, you may take one piece of baggage weighing a maximum of 23 kg. The sum of the external dimensions (length + width + height) of this piece of baggage can be no greater than 158 cm. A small item of special baggage may also count as one piece of baggage – for example, a musical instrument or set of sports equipment (such as golf equipment, skis or a snowboard).

If your flight ticket is marked with the code “2 PC”, you may take two pieces of baggage, each weighing a maximum of 23 kg. The sum of the external dimensions (length + width + height) of each piece of baggage can be no greater than 158 cm. A small item of special baggage may also count as one piece of baggage – for example, a musical instrument or set of sports equipment (such as golf equipment, skis or a snowboard).

An excess-baggage fee will be charged for a piece of baggage weighing more than 23 kg. The weight of a single piece of baggage may not exceed 32 kg.

Children with their own seat

A child with their own seat has the same basic baggage allowance as an adult travelling in the same travel class. In addition, this allowance includes a folding pushchair or safety seat. Safety seats may be taken into the cabin, space and safety regulations permitting.

Infants

Regardless of travel class, an infant’s baggage allowance includes one piece of baggage weighing a maximum of 23 kg, as wells as a folding pushchair or safety seat. Safety seats may be taken into the cabin, space and safety regulations permitting.

Finnair Plus Silver members and oneworld Emerald, Sapphire and Ruby members

If you’re a Finnair Plus Silver member or a oneworld Emerald, Sapphire or Ruby member, you may take one additional bag on flights operated and marketed by Finnair.

Finnair Plus Gold and Platinum members

If you’re a Finnair Plus Gold or Platinum member, you may take one additional bag, as well as one set of golf, ski or diving equipment. This benefit is available on flights operated and marketed by Finnair.
