National Museum of Fine Arts
24 rooms featuring national and international art from different time periods.
The largest art museum in all of the Caribbean is comprised of two adjoining spaces located on the picturesque and popular Paseo Martí promenade, in the center of Havana. In its halls you can stroll through the arts of Cuba and all the world, a collection ranging from 500 B.C. to the present day. In addition to the soaring stained glass ceiling depicting Columbus' caravels, one of the most significant items you'll find is a painting by El Greco that is found in the hall containing Spanish art. You'll also find a work on canvas by Gainsborough and, of course, many curious pieces of Cuban pop art. In contrast, the second building is strictly a space dedicated to quintessentially Cuban art. Some of its biggest ambassadors have works on display here, including Guillermo Collazo, Rafael Blanco, Raúl Martínez and Wifredo Lam.
