If you don't have much time, a spin on the city's tourist bus is an excellent option.
A quick ride around the city.
If you don't have much time to visit Marseille, a fun and comfortable option is the tourist bus which hits every interesting corner and stops at the main monuments. Le Grand Tour of Marseille has a fleet of two-storey buses, the upper one open to the elements (watch out for low-hanging branches and traffic lights!), with audio guides in several languages explaining the sights. The tour lasts about an hour and a half, and costs 18 euros; you'll be able to hop on and off the buses as many times as you wish during the day. The first departure is at 10:00 a.m. in Port Vieux, and 13 key stops include the Cathedral, Notre Dame de la Garde and Fort Saint Nicholas, among others.
