The Porto Gran Plaza (Great Square of Porto) is a modern shopping and leisure centre of recent construction, at the side of the Bolhao market. It has five floors and more than 75 businesses of varied hues of fashion, accessories, electronics, bookshops and perfumers, as well as many more. The Vía Catarina Shopping Centre is another commercial classic right in the old heart of the city, which can be found in the street that bears the same name. As an alternative, the Bombarda Shopping Centre comes highly recommended, and doesn’t come across as a mall but rather takes its character from being the cradle of alternative shops and of the city’s busiest young designers.
