A vertical park? Take a look at this park from a distance at nightfall and you'll understand.
As you go round Zurich, you'll see that industrial architecture was particularly important in the development of the city centre during the first decades of the 20th century. Now into the new millennium, the city has proposed to restore certain parts in order to achieve more green areas in the city, and one of their greatest successes has been this MFO Park, which is located in the district of Neu-Oerlikon, combining different architectural structures with enormous green areas. This place even has an area where they harvest grapevines and other fruit trees. Access to the MFO involves climbing some interesting stairs from where you can see the whole framework of this unique metallic structure that stands as an emblem of perfect industrial restoration. In fact, this place earned the title of being a vertical park. Do you want to know why? Well, move a little away from the park and take a look at it from some metres away as night falls. It will surprise you!
