A pioneer in France, the Museum of Contemporary Art opened its doors in the 1970s as Bordeaux' first nucleus and nurturer of emerging artistic movements. Especially since the 1990s, the CAPC has positioned itself in the forefront of specialised European collections, with themed exhibits such as land art, antiform, minimalism, arte povera, and conceptual art. In recent years it's continued its groundbreaking work in areas such as graphic design, music, and film.
