El Eskimo Restaurant
Still a go-to for ice cream, more than sixty years later
Traditional meets contemporary
Founded as an ice cream shop in 1960, El Eskimo is one of the Nicaraguan capital's classic establishments, retaining the charming international architecture that is typical of that era. It is separated into an informal cafeteria and another area for à la carte dining; you can taste Mexican dishes, soups, custards, salads, cocktails, smoothies and French, American and national breakfasts in both areas. Of course, the establishment's typical ice cream is available; it holds an important place in the restaurant's history and is now a traditional and distinguished brand in the national marketplace. The warm, welcoming atmosphere, fostered by the careful selection of decorations and strategically installed lights, is another of El Eskimo's attractions.
