Minorca's brand ambassador

The distinctly Minorcan sandals called avarcas are quite the local phenomenon, and you can find stylish, modern examples sold all over the island - above all in the main cities Ciutadella and Maó (especially, in the latter, along Carrer Arravaleta). One of the best known examples is the Jaime Mascaró brand, which has achieved so much success it has expanded to various cities in Spain and three other European countries including the U.K. Here on home turf Minorca, there are boutiques in Maó, at the airport, and out on the Maó-to-Ciutadella road on the outskirts of the town of Ferreries. Mascaró's "Pretty Ballerina" avarcas are perennial favourites, but they also sell boots, pumps, sneakers, and other footwear, along with accessories.
