There are many ski resorts throughout the country, but the best of those close to Santiago, are Lagunilla Centre and Valle Nevado, 65 and 56 kilometres respectively from the capital. Experts and beginners are welcome at Las Lagunillas, at an altitude of 2,200m; known for its family atmosphere and gorgeous natural surroundings thanks to its privileged position in the Cajón de Maipo, where you can wander through its picturesque snow covered villages.
