Though extensively reconstructed, the birth home of a beloved local figure is a worthwhile visit for both Catholics and history buffs

St. Vincent Ferrer House

Where the Valencian Community's patron saint was born

Born here in the 14th century, the Dominican friar who is today the Catholic patron saint of the Valencian Autonomous Community is widely beloved by the local faithful. And though the house of his birth still (sort of) stands, it looks little like the original, as it was both rebuilt and extensively modified over the centuries. But the saint's room is recreated apparently faithful to its original state, and the building is also home to a Gothic church. Also notable: the 18th-century ceramics which now adorn the house, as well as the tower that crowns its two main volumes.
