Tamadaba Natural Park

A pine forest of the XL variety.

We return to the north in order to enter into one of the two natural parks that Gran Canaria has. The park's main characteristic is that it is home to a very steep orographic system with valleys, peaks, gulleys, and spectacular shapes created by natural elements of erosion, which is a special feature that has served to attract the attention of two aspects: on the one hand, the spectacular Roque Faneque, which is a cliff of more than 1000 metres tall that stands almost vertically over the ocean; and on the other hand, because this park features the largest pine forest on the island, which is perfectly maintained, and where birds come to make their nests and then leave the area to head for the African continent, due to the change of temperature. It's also home to unique species of Canarian wildlife. Parque de Tamadaba is located a little more south of the town named Agaete.
