A surprising hodgepodge of shops in one of Santander’s commercial areas. This is an essential visit.
A pedestrian walkway.
Burgos Street is a pedestrianised walkway that connects the end of what is commonly known as Pereda Promenade (it is actually called Calvo Sotelo Street) with the enormous Vargas Street and La Alameda Boulevard. This street and its surroundings is one of Santander city’s shopping areas. Despite being such a small city, the melting pot of shops here is extremely varied and diverse. Big brand name shops and small, local businesses are all found in the same area. You’ll find antiques, electronics, books, usic, souvenir shops and cafés, all just a stone’s throw from Santander’s Town Hall Square. This beautiful area is easily walkable any time of the day and, if you’ve got a hankering for a sweet treat, we recommend sampling a Regma or Monerris ice cream as you window shop.
