The town of Comillas

Lose yourself here.

Although it is not easily demonstrable, the town of Comillas is renowned for being the most beautiful village in Spain. Some may argue this, but it is still one of the most pleasant and beautiful places for a day trip. Located next to a picturesque beach, this village has been the backdrop for several artistic genres that make an unusual collage as a whole. Firstly, this was the only part of the region that saw the trend of Modernism. In fact, one of the must-visits here is what is known as ‘Gaudi’s Whim’, a building that was built by the famous architect Gaudi. Equally unmissable is Sobrellano Palace, neo-gothic style Catalan modernist and enormous building that was built at the end of the 19th century for for the summer visits of the Marquis of Comillas.
