Rua Nova Street

One of the most popular in the center

One of the most important and busy streets of the historic center of Santiago, it's famous for its iconic old buildings and shops that are known not only by locals, but also by tourists. Attached to the Calle do Vilar by the Entrerrúas alley, the narrowest street in the city, here you'll find all kinds of establishments, from tattoo parlors to clothing (with much of the merchandise out on the street itself). It's also one of the best places to get your souvenirs of the city: try the Sargadelos shop for its famous Galician porcelain, or the Libreria Vetusta with its second-hand books. On this street you'll also see the church of Santa Maria Salome, as well as cultural institutions such as the Principal Theater or the Theater Hall.
