Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares

Sevillian culture before your eyes.

This museum which is dedicated to folk life, in the heart of the park named 'parque de María Luisa' is located inside the 'Pabellón Mudéjar' (Mudéjar pavilion), which is a Neo-Mudéjar style building that dates back o 1914. The museum as it is nowadays, wasn't created until 1972 with its objective of showing Seville's ethnography and wealth to the public. Incidentally, the 'Díaz Velázquez' legacy was donated to the museum in 1979 as one of the deposits the museum received. In 2001, the 'Allepuz' ethnographic collection of 168 pieces was also acquired. Among the museum's exhibitions you'll find traditional clothes, work tools of the period and musical instruments. If you have time, don't miss this museum because even just the building and its surroundings are beautiful. The building has two floors as a museum and there's free admission for citizens of European Union Member States.
