Queen of Tarts
This place will make you want to stop in your tracks, dive through its doors and enjoy a delicious cake
Because everyone likes the sweet life!
The very best of the New York cake tradition was brought to Dublin by artisan bakers Yvonne and Regina Fallon, renowned pastry chefs who trained in the silver screen city and returned to Ireland in 1998 to set up the Queen of Tarts patisserie and tea room. Cakes, pies, pastries, brownies, muffins, sweet buns and of course the traditional Irish apple pies jostle for attention in the shop window, which invites you to step inside and luxuriate in the smell of a pastry oven working at full capacity. The Queen of Tarts’ terrace is one of the best places to have a cup of tea or Belgian hot chocolate while you watch people come and go through the old part of town. And for customers without a sweet tooth, this pastry shop has updated its offering, which now includes a separate section for savoury baked goods, delicious fresh salads, sandwiches and wine tasting – impossible to avoid at mid-morning.
