Displaying some of Andalusia's and Spain's foremost artists of the 15th century through the present.
Spain's oldest provincial art museum.
With a long pedigree stretching back to 1839, Granada's Museo de Bellas Artes is Spain's oldest provincial art museum, with a fine collection of paintings and sculpture of the 15th century through the present from Andalusia, the rest of the country, and beyond. Prominent are religious-themed works and of course Granada artists such as the 17th century's Alonzo Cano, represented by paintings such as Madonna and Child and St. Jerome Penitent in the Desert. Halls 8 and 19, meanwhile, are dedicated to more contemporary and avant-garde works.
