International Festival of Music and Dance
Great artists performing in spectacular settings, every June and July
One of Spain's most splendid cultural festivals
Rooted in celebrations dating back to 1883, one of Spain's top cultural festivals, celebrated for the past 60 years, the International Festival of Music and dance is notable not just for the quality of performers but also their diversity, as well as the venue: the imposing Renaissance Palace of Carlos V next to the Alhambra. The inspiring sounds of the world's top orchestras produce even more of an impact when you're listening in the palace's imposing round courtyard, the Generalife gardens, or the Sacromonte. It all happens every June and July, with admission prices ranging from free to 100 euros (it's also a particularly stimulating time to be in Granada in general, as cultural activity spikes delightfully throughout the city during the festival.
