Here you'll find a wide range of the country's insects, arthropods and butterflies on display
An explosion of colours
Nicaragua's predominantly tropical climate is ideal for the development of diverse species of plants and animals. In the Entomological Museum in León, you can visit a significant and colourful exhibition of insects, arthropods and Lepidoptera, most striking among which are the species of beetles and diurnal and nocturnal butterflies, which are typical of the country: this space is linked to the academic research carried out by the local university, and also features a varied mineral collection, comprising native stones and rocks, as well as snail families from all over the world. As a research centre, this natural history museum may be open outside normal operating hours. If the door is closed, just ring the bell – you may be in luck.
