This beach in the municipality of Masachapa, only one hour from the capital, is flat and long, a perfect place to appreciate one of the country's most stunning outdoor sunsets. Masachapa is a fishing village, where visitors can taste fresh seafood products, sold by the locals, who also throw well-known and popular musical celebrations during Holy Week. You can find hotels, bars and restaurants here, and a beach where visitors can ride horses and practice most common water sports. In this extraordinary natural setting, local composer Rafael Gastón Pérez found the inspiration for his famous song 'Cuando calienta el sol' ('When the sun is hot'_, which has been covered by several artists. Tourists can take a bus from Managua's Mercado Israel Lewites terminal, as well as private transport.
