Southern cooking with its easily recognizable, classic recipes is one of the most characteristic of the whole United States. Yardbird Southern Table & Bar was set up in 2011 specifically to honour this cuisine. The prizewinning television chef Jeff Mcinnis (a participant in the cookery programme Top Chef, a format which has been borrowed for Master Chef) is in charge of the kitchen and is responsible for preparing the typical Southern dishes in his own inimitable style. In the restaurant, which is rustic with modern, industrial touches, dishes come and go – dishes such as fried green tomatoes (just like the film of the same name!), ribs, sweetcorn, five-cheese macaroni, mashed potato, sweet potato cakes, strawberry cakes, carrot cake...
