Cantabria Maritime Museum
Portraying the close relationship between Santander and the sea is no easy task, but this museum has more than managed to do so!
Watch out for the whale!
As you already know, this seaside town lived and developed for centuries thanks to the sea. The Maritime Museum displays the biodiversity of this area in both an educational and impressive manner. In fact, one of the main attractions is a complete skeleton of an over 24-metre long whale that hangs from the ceiling. Another floor houses Spain’s most comprehensive collection of visual sea-life displays. This museum allows you to take a journey through the history of the city, through its boats, ports and its way of life. It is located next to Los Peligros Beach.
