The views of the city’s coastline from these gardens are simply stunning. A must-see.

Piquio Gardens

Fit for a postcard.

These gardens were designed by architect Ramiro Sainz Martinez and opened in 1925. They divide the promenade and the beaches of El Sardinero in two and their name was chosen, as it is one of the city’s most characteristic names. The gardens actually divide the ‘first’ and ‘second’ beaches of El Sardinero, and the views of the sea from the lookout point are absolutely stunning, as you can see everything from the Santander Lighthouse to El Camello (Camel) Beach (guess how it got its name?). These beautiful gardens and pergola that surrounds the hill are picture perfect. After your visit, we recommend continuing your stoll along the promenade to the ‘first’ beach, where you can sample a delicious Regma ice cream.
