Unaccompanied minors

Minors between the ages of 5 and 11 travelling alone ("UM" unaccompanied minor)

Minors may travel without a companion, provided that compulsory safety requirements are met. To that end, a companion is held to be a person who, on the date of the journey, is aged 16 or over and travels with the minor. Bookings for unaccompanied minors may not be made via the internet; to make such bookings, please contact your Iberia Ticket Desk or a travel agency.

Please remember that this service may not be requested on IB7000 flights, or when the flight includes sections which are flown by other companies.

Service cost (to be paid at the time of the booking and issuing of the ticket)
The service cost per leg is:

  • Domestic (excluding Canary Islands) €30
  • To Europe, Canary Islands, Middle East and Africa (except Luwanda) €50
  • From Europe, Middle East and Africa to America and Luwanda €75
  • From/to America and Luwanda USD100

Please bear in mind the fluctuations in the exchange rates at the time of transaction.
Other Airlines may have rules, age limits and fares which are different, so please consult us at the time of booking.

Various charges, taxes or duties may be applied, in accordance with the legislation of each country

Youngs between the ages of 12 and 17 travelling alone (Young)

The cost of the service by sector is:

  • Domestic (excluding Canary Islands) €30
  • To Europe, Canary Islands, Middle East and Africa (except Luwanda) €50
  • From Europe, Middle East and Africa to America and Luwanda €75
  • From/to America and Luwanda USD100

For all flights operated by Iberia and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum or flights IB5000 with Vueling as the operator, regardless of the destination.

For the purposes of accompanying a minor, people aged 16 or over are considered to be adults. Please remember that passengers in this age group are considered to be adults as regards fares.

Bookings may not be made via the internet. You will need to contact an Iberia office or travel agency, as it is necessary to reserve the service at the time of making the booking
