How can I pay at Iberia.com?
Payment for tickets can only be made using the credit and debit cards accepted by Iberia:
- Visa, American Express, UATP/Airplus, Diners Club, Master Card (except Maestro card), Carte Blanche, and Access.
- Visa Electron, 4B and Red 6000.
You will have to write on the purchase page close to the name of the card holder, the safety code of the card use for pay, marked with the initials "CVV", n order that we could proceed to issue the ticket (s).
If you pay with Visa, MasterCard or American Express on the web page, you will be able to enter the security code that appears on the back of the card.
If when your payment card is charged, the card issuer doesn't authorize the transaction, we will inform you of the problem via e-mail, in order to check if the details you have provided are correct or to provide us with a new payment card.

The CVV consists of a validation code to verify the authenticity of your Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club or American Express card.
On VISA, MASTERCARD and DINERS CLUBcards, this security code can be found on the back of the card and is identified by the last three digits of the number series. On AMERICAN EXPRESS cards, the four digit security code appears on the front of the card.
When will the charge be made to my card used for pay?
The charge to your card will be made automatically, once the Online Booking and Purchase process has taken place.
Is there a surcharge for paying by credit card, PayPal or bank transfer through SOFORT?
In Spain:
Payments of transactions in Spain made with an individual or personal card (licensed American Express, Visa or MasterCard) issued by a Spanish bank are exempt from charges.
However, charges* will apply to payments made with the following cards:
- Business, corporate or commercial cards
- Third-party American express cards (issued by American Express International)
- Diners Club cards
- Carte Blanche
- UATP/Airplus
- Cards issued outside Spain on purchases made via the Spanish website of Iberia.com
The additional charge applied in all cases is as follows:
1% of the final amount on long-haul flights and 2% on all other flights.
For payments through PayPal it would be 3.50 euros
In the United Kingdom, Finland and Switzerland:
A charge* of 1% per passenger will apply if you use a credit card issued in the United Kingdom (corporate cards), Finland or Switzerland.
*Additional charges do not apply to the use of a credit card to pay for air tickets charged to Avios, or to pay for other optional services (changes in air tickets, early seat booking, additional baggage, special baggage, etc).
Do I have to show my credit card?
You do not always have to show the credit card used to buy the ticket at the airport on the day of departure.
When you purchase your ticket (either through Iberia.com or by calling Serviberia) and depending on a number of factors, such as flight dates, destination, cost of the ticket and the country where the credit card was issued, you will be notified immediately if you need to show your credit card at the airport on the day of departure.
If you purchased your ticket from an Iberia ticket office or a travel agent's, please check again with the issuing office.
If you are told upon purchasing your ticket that a credit card should be presented, remember that Iberia does not accept virtual cards for the purchase of tickets.
Buy now and pay later with Aplazame
Aplazame is a new method of instant credit now available on iberia.com in Spain for you to buy tickets quickly, easily and securely. Choose your destination and select Aplazame as the payment method for domestic flights and selected international routes. You have up to six months to pay for your tickets in comfortable instalments.
The system will redirect you to the Aplazame secure servers. Decide the number of instalments and the day of the month on which you want to pay, and Aplazame will grant you instant credit.
No forms to fill in and no small print. All you need is your email, mobile phone and ID number.
What is SOFORT Banking?
It's a new online payment system certified by the German organisation TÜV Saarland. It works on the basis of existing internet banking services that use PIN or TAN codes to access your account, so it offers a fast and secure way of shopping online.
All you need is a bank account at one of the compatible banks (which means most banks in Spain). Payment is made in three easy steps and there's no need to register.
Thanks to the combination of transaction control, the verification of transactions by sending an SMS to the card holder and a anti-fraud department, SOFORT Banking offers a completely secure online payment method.
SOFORT Banking may only be used for transactions in EUR and there is no surcharge for deposits.
If you select "Bank transfer (Sofort) as your payment method, you will be automatically directed to the Sofort page. Once you have finished the payment procedure, you will automatically go back to the Iberia booking confirmation page.
What is PayPal?
PayPal is the safest and easiest way of paying online. All you need is an email address to make your secure online payments using a debit card, credit card, bank account or PayPal balance, registering on the page
www.paypal.com.
Your financial details are safely stored in its servers and you will not have to share them with the person who receives or sends the money or reveal your data over the Internet or in public.
If you select the “PayPal” payment method, you will be automatically directed to the PayPal page. Once you have finished the payment procedure, you will be directly returned to the Iberia booking confirmation page.
What is the Amex card?
The American Express card can be used for all of your daily expenses and accumulates MR Avios that can then be transferred to Iberia Plus and turned into free flights. Transfer your Avios at www.americanexpress.es/mrclub and enjoy your reward.
What are the Iberia Sendo and Iberia Max cards?
They are all credit cards. By shopping with Iberia Sendo and Iberia Max cards you automatically accumulate Avios.
Iberia Sendo are two complementary credit cards (an American Express and a Visa) that automatically gain you Avios on your purchases. < br /> For further information www. iberiacards.es
The Mastercard Iberia Max card is promoted through the more than 8,000 branches of , Grupo Banco Popular, BBVA and Caja Madrid, and Iberia Cards through the company's website. The card enables you to accumulate Avios and decide each month how much you want to pay.
